It is also a time when the weather on our peninsula can be surprisingly kind. In early October there is often an Indian Summer. Through October the Gulf Stream is still comparatively warm. In early November the surrounding hills protect us from the worst of the colder winds from the east and north. A quiet few days to wander the hills or cycle the back-roads can be grabbed before winter sets in fully.
